Jamaica Plain

Jamaica Plain known as “JP” to locals, formally became a recognized neighborhood of Boston back in 1875 and is home to a significant portion of Boston's famous Emerald Necklace of parks. The triple decker house, a defining image in urban New England architecture, proliferates this vibrant section of the city. With close proximity to the Museum School, Mass Art, and Northeastern University, the neighborhood has over the years attracted a large community of college-educated professionals, activists and artists. The MBTA Orange line also offers quick and easy access to downtown as well as the rest of Boston.
